China Youth Daily reported on 24 July 2025 that the launch and opening ceremony of the competition's study tour took place in Beijing on the evening of 23 July, co-hosted by GACEE and Zhongxuesheng Xuexi Bao. More than 40 students, parents and accompanying teachers from 10 countries took part.
Participants tried lacquer-fan making, pitch-pot and a Chinese-character sign-in wall before travelling on to Henan for a week. The report says the competition, launched that May, received over 5,000 entries from about 100 schools in 30 countries.
