On 25 July, the 'Walking China, Sustaining Cultural Heritage' international study camp arrived in Anyang, Henan. The Middle School Students' Study Paper and the Global Association of Cultural and Educational Exchange (GACEE) jointly designated the Yinxu Museum as the 'Global Chinese Oracle Bone Script Study and Practice Base'.

The Yinxu Museum in Anyang is a cultural site embodying the genetic markers of Chinese civilisation. This designation marks a key step in fulfilling the mission of cultural inheritance: it establishes a benchmark platform for oracle bone script study by Chinese youth worldwide, giving cultural transmission tangible grounding; and, by integrating resources, it deepens the integration of oracle bone script culture with education, helping build cross-border cultural exchange bridges—ensuring the continuity of Chinese cultural heritage among young people and carrying oracle bone script stories to a wider global audience.

A representative of the Middle School Students' Study Paper said: 'As an educational newspaper under the Central Plains Publishing & Media Group, the Middle School Students' Study Paper has, over its 43-year history, worked behind the scenes to support teaching and learning, while also taking a leading role in publishing to advance knowledge dissemination, cultural transmission, and civilisational continuity. This international study camp is an extension of the First World Chinese Essay Competition, co-organised by the newspaper and GACEE, launched in response to requests from teachers, students, and parents both at home and abroad. Going forward, we will further expand the 'Walking China, Sustaining Cultural Heritage' initiative, developing a series of 'Walking Henan' study routes to bring more domestic and international youth—and oracle bone script enthusiasts—to Anyang for field study, learning, and experiential engagement, continuously empowering the global dissemination of outstanding Chinese culture.'

Cai Yisu, President of GACEE; Li Kaizhen, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Middle School Students' Study Paper; Qiao Hong, Deputy Director of the Anyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports, Tourism and Relics; and Shen Weiwei, representative of Henan Anyang Culture & Tourism Group at Yinxu, attended the designation ceremony.

All parties stated that, building on this designation, they would leverage Yinxu’s rich oracle bone script cultural resources to develop a study platform for Chinese communities worldwide, promoting the popularisation, research, and inheritance of oracle bone script knowledge.

The 'Walking China, Sustaining Cultural Heritage' international study camp aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the long history and profound depth of Chinese civilisation through an intensive eight-day, seven-night programme. The visit to Yinxu and the designation ceremony represent a vivid implementation of this vision, laying a solid foundation for broader future oracle bone script study activities.
